The time has come... the Calgary STARS Gym will be holding our 3rd ANNUAL FIG THE PIG SMALL CHANGE FOR BIG CHANGES CAMPAIGN! This charity campaign is always a big hit with our families as well as all of our coaching staff! All of the money raised will go directly to an amazing Calgary charity that is very near and dear to us, Jamie's Preschool. Jamie's Preschool is one of very few facilities committed to working with children with cancer, blood disorders and other critical illnesses. Jamie's Preschool provides them with a safe and clean environment outside the hospital walls where they can learn, play and mostly, just be a kid! They are able to participate in music, arts and crafts classes as well as a gymnastics class once a week, right here at the Calgary STARS Gym! Our staff will each be decorating a small version of our campaign mascot "Fig" in their own special way. These pigs will be up for auction from January 18th, 2010 at 9:00am until February 27th, at 6:00pm. This year, our auction will include a special CALGARY FLAMES PIG, personally autographed by 12 members of the CALGARY FLAMES! (Dion Phaneuf, Cory Sarich, Adam Pardy, Robyn Regher, Eric Nystrom, Daymond Langkow, Curtis McElhinney, Jay Bowmeester, Brandon Prust, Fredrik Sjostrom, Dustin Boyd and Jerome Iginla). FIG THE PIGS that are up for auction! These INSPIRING children brighten our day with their smiles each week. We hold them very near to our hearts and hope that all of the STARS families will help us raise funds to keep this wonderful program running!
